   Flower Power: Floral Flights Resume At MidAmerica Airport

As promised, flower flights resumed Friday morning at MidAmerica St. Louis Airport after a 15-week hiatus.

A Florida West cargo plane arrived early Friday and was being refueled and appeared to have cargo waiting to load for the return flight. Six tons of flowers came in on the flight, according to a spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection.

Flights ended Aug. 6 when St. Clair County leaders dropped a deal with Teqflor Logistics International, of Miami, that was repaying the county's $3.3 million loan for refrigeration units and other specialized equipment to handle flowers. St. Clair County is supposed to take over payments for the refrigeration units, County Board Chairman Mark Kern has said.
