DALLAS – Avocados From Mexico (AFM), the number-one selling Avocado brand in the U.S., will be showcasing their latest initiatives and partnerships along with the industry premiere of the short film, Avocadoland™, at the upcoming PMA Fresh Summit Convention & Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana from October 19-21, 2017.

“We are excited to share our best practices, seasonal program lineup and unveil our Avocadoland™ film at PMA. Through the equally educational and enticing film we hope to share the story of our avocados and what makes Avocados From Mexico so delicious,” said Alvaro Luque, President of Avocados From Mexico.

Through AFM’s partnership with Tastemade, the Avocadoland™ film will feature the journey of avocados from the Mexican state of Michoacán to consumers’ homes. The Avocadoland™ Cinema experience will be located inside the AFM exhibit.

This year, in addition to the debut of the Avocadoland™ film retailers will be able to learn about partnership opportunities that can drive their business, including new seasonal programs, best practices based on AFM’s proprietary shopper mindset study and usage occasion ideas. AFM’s shopper engagement initiatives attract consumers, create opportunities to discover and inspire consumers to act, further growing the category and drive traffic to the produce department.

“As the category leader, our goal is to lead trade excellence by providing best-in-class tools for the shopper experience to drive consumption and retailer sales,” said Maggie Bezart-Hall, Vice President of Trade and Promotions for Avocados From Mexico. “We’re forecasting strong volume and have created robust marketing efforts to support the supply.”

Retailers can learn more about AFM’s upcoming programming in its brand showcase area featuring its 2017-2018 lineup of national seasonal initiatives and merchandising programs in retail trade which will cover Holiday, the Big Game, March Madness and Cinco time periods.

In addition to its Brand showcase area, AFM will feature a variety of initiatives that focus on providing consumer solutions and experiences for a wide range of audiences. The “Eat Lively” area will provide attendees with rich information on AFM’s new health and wellness efforts toward improving consumers’ lifestyles.  Avocado From Mexico’s resident health expert, registered dietitian and nutritionist, Dr. Barbara Ruhs will be present to share avocado dietary counseling in the “Eat Lively” area with other registered dietitians.

Throughout the day, attendees will be transported through a full-sensory experience when visiting the “New Generations” area. Youth from AFM’s “Mini Chefs” series will conduct live food demonstrations on Friday and Saturday from 11 am - 3 pm featuring, delicious avocado-inspired meals to help inspire healthier and tastier children’s menu items with avocados. Attendees can also learn about other initiatives focused on newer generations including Produce for Kids partnership, AFM’s school outreach program via Young Minds Inspired and its programing geared toward millennials targeting colleges and universities via its “Eat Lively” Tour.

AFM is bringing back the interactive culinary and social media experience of the Avo-matic, a kitchen of the future concept equipped with facial recognition technology to measure guests happiness. The Avo-matic experience will also feature a variety of customizable handheld offerings including the popular avo toast, avo wraps and avo sliders. Guests will enjoy FREE healthy, flavorful avocado bites and through each guest’s facial cues the Avo-Matic will measure their happiness. Guests will also be able to share their keepsake photo with #AvoHappiness on their social platforms.

Wrapping up the avo-experience, next to the Avo-matic area will be an AFM brand showcase area featuring its 2017-2018 lineup of national seasonal initiatives and merchandising programs in retail trade.
