   Maplehurst Bakeries Announces Layoffs In Davidson County, Tennessee

Maplehurst is a member of the Weston family of companies. The company is headquartered in Brownsburg, Indiana. The company’s parent, Weston Foods, is Canadian. For more than 40 years, Maplehurst had provided retail customers with in-store bakery expertise and high-quality baked goods. On December 28, 2017, the State of Tennessee received a WARN notification from Maplehurst Bakeries.

According to that WARN notice, the company will soon be permanently closing its operation in Nashville, Tennessee. The plant is located at 1605 County Hospital Road. The closure is expected to take place on February 23, 2018. As a result of the closure, 145 employees will be laid off. The employees at the facility are not represented by a collective bargaining agreement. Therefore, they will not have bumping rights.
