   Whole Foods’ Affordable Supermarket Lands In East Austin

Whole Foods Market 365, the more affordable version of the sustainable grocery store, is finally coming to Austin proper. It will be located in the development adjacent to the Plaza Saltillo station on Comal Street and is scheduled to open in late 2019.

The Market 365 concept was announced in 2015, and there are seven locations across the country. This is the first location in the grocery chain’s hometown, although there is a store in Cedar Park that opened last year. The 30,000 square-foot store will be designed by Michael Hsu, a local architect who worked on the South Congress Hotel and ATX Cocina and is known for sustainability.

Austin City Council Member Pio Renteria’s district proclaimed his support for the project in a press release:
