In 2007, New Pioneer Food Co-op and later Hy-Vee contacted the Hoards about wholesaling pies -- the monthly count is at about 100 pies -- in addition to Wednesday and Saturday Iowa City Farmers Market pies, Jonathan Hoard said. The goal is to expand the wholesale and retail business.
