Tortilla Bakery Finds Success In South Scranton

The smell of fresh tortillas and the hum of the machine making them fill the small store on Cedar Avenue.

A customer walks in and orders one pound of the warm corn tortillas. With each pound he sells, Tony Camacho realizes his dream has come true.

Camacho, along with his wife, Belen Pineda, opened Tortilleria El Buen Amigo last year. The tortilla bakery at 612 Cedar Ave. specializes in the soft, thin flatbread. With many Mexican and Hispanic grocery stores in South Scranton, Camacho knew he needed to offer something unique to his customers.
