Louisville, CO  – As a college student in 2010 subsisting like many do on mac ‘n cheese dinners, Denver native Alex Carone did what anyone would do when she was diagnosed with celiac disease and an allergy to dairy products – she called her mom.

Together, they created the recipes for a line of dairy free, gluten free, certified organic, vegan cheese-style dips perfect for dipping veggies and chips…and for making Alex’s favorite mac ‘n cheese dish. When her business partner and fiancé Jeremy Day couldn’t tell the difference, the pair knew they were on to something. Soon after starting at a farmers market in 2014, The Honest Stand’s plant based Cheese Style dips became available in Whole Foods Market, Natural Grocers, Lucky’s Market, and other regional locations.

From Pitch Slam Winner to Expo Exhibitor

Now, after winning first place in the coveted Naturally Boulder annual entrepreneurial Pitch Slam competition in October 2017, The Honest Stand, based in Louisville, CO, is debuting its line of vegan dips on the national stage at the upcoming Natural Products Expo West. Held each year at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA, Expo West draws more than 80,000 trade visitors from over 70 countries to review the latest innovations in natural, organic, plant based, gluten free, non-GMO, eco-friendly and other products and services for the healthy lifestyles consumer market.

The Honest Stand’s cheese style dips are made from simple whole food ingredients including organic potatoes, cashews, and yellow onions for a cheesy texture that’s remarkably familiar, plus sea salt, natural flavor and organic seasonings. Each serving delivers a bold flavor, sensational mouth feel, and no more than 30 calories and 1.5 grams of fat. Suddenly, dipping buffalo wings, smothering nachos, savoring pizza, and devouring pasta feels a lot less guilty.
