Current zoning code in Cannon Beach prohibits outdoor displays and sales of merchandise that would “detract from the unique character of downtown or are detrimental to the small town atmosphere of Cannon Beach.” However, sales of goods that would normally be done outside — such as the sale of Christmas trees or nursery plants — are allowed, as well as goods found not to be detrimental to the town’s character.
