Harper Government Helps Increase Bakery's Competitiveness

An Ontario bakery will increase its production and competitiveness with the support of the Harper Government. Member of Parliament Wladyslaw Lizon (Mississauga East-Cooksville), on behalf of Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz, announced today an investment of over $240,000 to S. Gumpert Co. of Canada to purchase and install new packaging equipment in its facility in Mississauga, Ontario.

The new law was ill advised from the beginning. It does little to rein in health care costs while imposing many untenable policies that will harm bakers. The ‘Cadillac’ tax, convoluted fines for employees participating in exchanges, and new mandated levels of insurance essentially tell bakers to automate, hold off on hiring and growing their business."
