JBS USA, a leading processor of fresh and value-added quality beef products in the U.S., announced a $75 million expansion project at its Hyrum, Utah, beef processing complex. The project includes a new state-of-the-art fabrication building, a new cutting-edge ground beef facility and a new distribution center. The complete project will allow for the increase of production levels by more than 400 head per day, improve plant efficiencies and expand the business's offerings of high-quality beef and ground beef products for customers.

SD Pork Producers Council Announces Annual Awards

Brad and Peggy Greenway, of Mitchell, were among those recognized by the council on Jan. 15 during its 46th Annual Pork Congress at the Sioux Falls Ramkota Hotel and Exhibit Hall. The couple received the first ever Pork Promoter of the Year award from the South Dakota Pork Producers Council.

Midwest Group Makes Generous Contribution To Tom Butler Family Fund

The Midwest Group, a floral industry trade association consisting of 15 leading florists nationwide, generously donated $1,500 to the Tom Butler Family Fund. The fund was established in 2014 by Tom and Becky Butler to provide general undesignated funds to the American Floral Endowment (AFE), prior to Tom's passing in August. 

NRF's Valentine's Day Consumer Spending Survey: Average Person Will Spend More This Year

Cupid has some tricks up his (non-existent) sleeve this year with plans to shower Americans with jewelry, candy and a special night out. According to the National Retail Federation’s Valentine’s Day Consumer Spending Survey conducted by Prosper Insights and Analytics, the average person celebrating Valentine’s Day will spend $142.31 on candy, flowers, apparel and more, up from $133.91 last year. Total spending is expected to reach $18.9 billion, a survey high.*
