Nearly 75% of global respondents, on average, say a brand's country of origin is as important as or more important than nine other purchasing drivers, including selection/choice, price, function and quality, according to findings from the Nielsen Global Brand-Origin Survey released today.

The Hass Avocado Board recently released a study analyzing thirteen holidays and events throughout the year. Holiday volume saw robust growth, particularly for spring and summer holidays where growth rates reached over 20 percent. The Big Game, Cinco de Mayo and 4th of July had the highest weekly retail dollar sales of the year, each comprising 2.4% of the annual total. Labor Day generated the largest dollar and volume sales growth on a percentage basis.
