ABA Challenges Trump Administration on Latest Round of Chinese Tariffs

Washington, D.C. – The US Trade Representative affirmed today that it would be increasing the list three tariffs levied against China from 10% to 25% in response to a perceived lack of motivation by Chinese negotiators.

“While we support the tax cuts and overall deregulatory agenda of the Administration, these ongoing tariff battles put the industry at a significant disadvantage and jeopardizes our potential for economic growth.”

The third list of tariffs included many dry ingredients that are used in finished baked products as well as some manufacturing equipment. Currently, the Administration has been unwilling to provide a process for excluding products on the third list.
