PLANT CITY — The holiday rush hits early at 1200 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Long before most cooks are dreaming up their dessert menus for Thanksgiving and Christmas, workers at Paradise Inc. are busy making sure there's plenty of candied fruit to go around.
Summer starts peak production at Paradise, the nation's largest producer of the ingredients essential to fruitcake and other treats.
"At this time of year our production is high and we have a full compliment of workers," company Executive Vice President Mark Gordon said.
Plant City may be known as the winter strawberry capital of the world, but Paradise gives it another reason to brag.
