La Espiga De Oro, Inc. Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Whey in Flour Tortillas

La Espiga de Oro, Inc. of Houston, Texas is recalling Fiesta brand Flour
Burrito Tortillas in 12 count packages, because they may contain undeclared whey
(milk allergen). People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk
allergens run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they
consume this product.

The product was distributed through Fiesta Marts in Houston, Texas in plastic
wrap packages labeled Fiesta 12 Flour Burrito Tortillas. The packages have the
UPC code 51022 00060, and the recall includes tortilla packages labeled with a
date of November 30, 2009 through December 20, 2009.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing whey
was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of whey.
Subsequent investigation indicates that the problem was caused by a packaging
identification error in the companys production and packaging processes.

Consumers who have purchased Fiesta 12 Flour Burrito Tortillas are urged to
return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions
