NAVARRE Integrity, generosity and respect are a few of the words those who knew him use when talking about Nickles Bakery CEO David A. Gardner.
In 1998, Gardner became the president and CEO of Alfred Nickles Bakery in Navarre.
Gardner died Monday following a brief illness. He was 70.
Pat Winkhart, a Navarre councilwoman, worked at the bakery’s corporate office for more than 45 years before retiring in 2011. She spoke of Gardner’s military service.
