Moonstruck Tests Chocolate Store Inside Fred Meyer

Eighteen months after shutting down its last retail experiment, Moonstruck
Chocolate is taking a fresh shot at expanding its market.

The Portland chocolatier opened a truffle counter inside the Fred Meyer store on
Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard this week, testing a new concept in hopes of
finding an effective, efficient way to reach customers.

“This is the first time we’ve stepped outside our four walls,” said Ron Brake,
Moonstruck director of sales. “We’re moving very carefully, very slowly.”
