New myIDDBA Training Site Premieres Bakery Cake Product Knowledge Training

New Orleans, LA — At Dairy-Deli-Bake 2012, New Orleans, LA, June 10 – 12, the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association premiered their new free Bakery mobile and internet training. This new myIDDBA Training site is accessible on multiple platforms—smart phones, tablets, desktops, and scales.

Supermarket bakery associates will find five fun, quick (about 2 minutes), educational programs about cake. The five courses cover: cake layers, icings & fillings, specialty cakes, cake occasions, and cake servings. Assessments are done via brief final quizzes. Associates’ progress can be tracked and a certificate of recognition is available.

Our new myIDDBA Training site is a highly relevant and engaging training site, particularly for younger department employees according to Mary Kay O’Connor, director of education, IDDBA. “This information is accessible on multiple platforms, thus broadening appeal for traditional learners, too,” she says. “In the future, the site will provide the foundation for the inclusion of training topics in other categories such as cheese and deli.”

The training programs are free and available for anyone to use. Associates learn how to be a part of a customer’s big day by asking, “What are you celebrating today?” and making sure they get the right cake, the right way.
