New Traceability Implementation Guideline Issued For Bakery Industry

A new implementation guideline for leveraging GS1 global standards for traceability business processes in the dairy, deli, and bakery supply chain was released today by the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association, the International Dairy Foods Association, and GS1 US. North African Lamb Sandwich On ACE Bakery Ciabatta Named Canada's Best Sandwich

After slicing and dicing their way to the Sandwich Showdown, one Canadian aced the final competition. ACE Bakery and Food Network Canada personality, Bob Blumer, today announced that Jean Émond's North African Lamb Sandwich with Harissa and Figs on ACE Bakery Ciabatta has been officially toasted Canada's Best Sandwich. Along with the national title, Émond is the winner of a $10,000 prize and $10,000 donation towards his charity of choice, World Wildlife Fund Canada.

The public warning issued on October 9, 2013 has been updated to include additional products. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Regal Snacks Inc. are warning people with allergies to eggs not to consume the KCB and RFP brand products described below. The affected products may contain egg which is not declared on the labels.
