Breakfast is famously known as the most important meal of the day, yet it's a meal that's likely to be skipped. One in five Americans, or about 60 million people, do not eat or drink anything in the morning before 11 a.m., according to a new analysis by The NPD Group[1]; and millions more opt for nutrient-poor choices on the run. The Breakfast Project is attempting to tackle this problem and change the way Americans view their morning meal.

Guida's has sold itself to a national co-operative of dairy farmers based in Kansas City. But the message won't have to change much, said Jim Guida, the senior family member at the company — because, he said, the dairy processor with roots that go back 126 years is not changing at all.

Majority Of Dairy-Related Disease Outbreaks Linked To Raw Milk

The rate of outbreaks caused by unpasteurized milk (often called raw milk) and products made from it was 150 times greater than outbreaks linked to pasteurized milk, according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The 13-year review also revealed that the states where the sale of raw milk was legal had more than twice the rate of outbreaks as states where it was illegal.

California Demands Answers On Marketing Of Milk

In response to a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals lawsuit, a state Superior Court has ordered farmers in the Central Valley and elsewhere on the California Milk Advisory Board to answer questions about how they market the dairy industry in California.
