Northeast Dairy Farmers Attack Settlement Proposal

Dairy farmers who say attorneys representing them are not looking out for their best interests have filed opposition to the proposed settlement submitted in the class action antitrust lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Burlington, Vt. Acting on behalf of its dairy farmer owners, Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. (DFA), together with Dairy Marketing Services, LLC (DMS), also has filed objections to this settlement.

SMITH’S Holds Contest To Name Its Chocolate Cow

The chocolate cow that graces the SMITH’S 1% Lowfat Chocolate Milk package is the only character in the SMITH’s milk herd without a name. Now, SMITH’S is holding a contest to change that. The newest bovine joins Dorothy D., Twyla 2%, Wanda 1% and Sally Skim; and kids and kids-at-heart are eligible to enter a contest to name her. Deadline for entries is May 25 and the winner will be selected on June 3.
