Bob Kiefer was just another smoke jockey 14 years ago, slowly applying heat to a pork butt and beer to himself in varying intervals, when his then-girlfriend asked if he could smoke cheese. Today Kiefer isnt just selling a product. He wants to rehabilitate the image of smoked cheese. For him, smoke is the modifier, not the defining flavor, a mistake he often tastes when sampling the competition.

Rising Sun Farms won two awards at the recent 2012 American Cheese Society (ACS) Judging and Competition.  Mild Curry Cheese Torta brought home the first place award in the Cheese Spreads with Flavor category, followed by Mediterranean with a second place award in the same category.
