Made in the Northern Italian region of Lombardy, Fiacco di Capra springs from the same tradition as Stracchino, a semisoft cow's-milk square with a long history in the region. In the case of Stracchino, the name harks back to the old ritual of transhumance, the seasonal movement of livestock up and down the mountain to take advantage of pasture.

Northwest Ohio's Turkeyfoot Creek Creamery Goat Cheese

According to owner Del Burkholder, the farm near Wauseon is the only one in northwest Ohio to make goat cheese from its own goats. And it is one of only four or five in the whole state to do so. The creamery will have its official grand opening at noon July 17, though it has been in business since March.
