Christmas Competition At Northeast Greenhouse Conference A Success!

The first ever Christmas Competition was held at the Northeast Greenhouse Conference on November 3, 2010. Seven contestants (each was a merchandiser at a garden center from each of the participating Northeast states) competed by making a display in 45 minutes. The contestant was chosen by the respective growers’ association from MA, CT, RI, NH, VT, ME and NY.

The Carolina Nurseries property near Moncks Corner changed ownership today at a Berkeley County foreclosure auction. InterTech executive Robert Johnston said today that the company is in discussions with undisclosed parties about keeping a nursery operating on the 686-acre property.

Metrolina Greenhouses Growth Plans Are Blooming

The largest greenhouse in the United States is about to get even bigger. The Huntersville Planning Board recently approved the rezoning of about 133 acres on Huntersville Concord Road so Metrolina Greenhouses can move forward with a 1.5 million-square-foot greenhouse expansion.
