California Grape Growers Award Scholarships

Students in California’s grape growing region are ready to attend college thanks to table grape growers. Five field worker scholarships were awarded in 2015: three $20,000, four-year field worker scholarships and two $3,500 two-year scholarships to community colleges. Also, two $20,000 four-year agricultural scholarships were awarded in 2015.

The Smithsonian’s 49th Annual Folklife Festival opened this week and for 10 days the rich Peruvian culture will be celebrated on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It’s estimated that more than a million people will visit the national park to experience and learn about the country’s heritage, its people, its art and sample traditional Peruvian fare that is becoming increasingly popular in the United States.
