A major consumer study fielded by the United States Potato Board last fall determined that the number one barrier to consuming potatoes more often at home was that people craved more variety in their meals. And the USPB’s annual Attitudes & Usage study found that 22% of their target shoppers agreed that they would be motivated to purchase more fresh potatoes if they were offered a greater variety, ranking third among all responses.

United Fresh Names 25 Retail Produce Manager Award Honorees

Marking its 11th year of recognizing exceptional retail produce managers, United Fresh announced the honorees of its 2015 Retail Produce Manager Awards Program. The group of 25 produce managers represents 23 different supermarket banners, commissaries and independent retail stores in 19 states. They will be the honored guests at the United Fresh 2015 convention and trade show, June 8-10 in Chicago.

Members of the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA) held their annual meeting on May 12, 2015 in Nogales, Arizona.  The annual meeting is an opportunity for members to discuss key actions from the previous year with detailed updates from the FPAA’s president, chairman, and staff.  In addition, the annual meeting is the opportunity to vote for board members to fill the terms that ended this May.
