United Fresh Introduces Class 20 Of The Produce Industry Leadership Program

The United Fresh Produce Association is pleased to announce the 12 members of the 2014-2015 Produce Industry Leadership Program.  The program, which was first launched in 1995, is sponsored by a generous grant from DuPont Crop Protection and since its inception has graduated more than 200 industry members.

New York City's Green Cart initiative (Green Carts) has increased access to healthy food in otherwise underserved high-density and low-income neighborhoods, influenced customers' consumption of fruits and vegetables, and created jobs for immigrant entrepreneurs, according to researchers at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). The researchers suggest the program can and should be replicated in urban areas across the country.
