With a study this year by Florida International University showing one in six Floridians lives in poverty, FLIPANY, or Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition to Youth, is increasingly offering grocery store tours to teach people "how to shop on a budget," said Jeff Milner, a chef with the organization. "People are really struggling to make ends meet."

Belle Foods Files For Bankruptcy

Belle Foods, the operator of former Bruno’s and Food World stores in the Birmingham area, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, citing difficulties paying creditors with the revenues from its 57 stores in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi.
