Whole Foods Store Sales Accelerate, Net Income Rises 20%

Whole Foods Market Inc said on Tuesday store sales have rebounded as it expands efforts to lower prices and reach beyond its core of upscale shoppers by adding more locations, and its shares rose more than 8 percent after hours.

On Friday, May 3, H-E-B announced statewide winners of the 12th annual H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards during a banquet at Austin’s Hilton Hotel. At the ceremony, H-E-B Chairman and CEO Charles Butt handed out $585,000 in cash awards and grants and personally congratulated 23 educators, campuses, school districts and one early childhood agency for being among the best in Texas.

Target Announces Soft Opening Of 24 Stores In Western Canada

Target is pleased to announce the soft opening dates for its first stores in Western Canada, including 22 locations that opened on May 7 and two locations opening on May 14. The soft openings include stores in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba and follow the opening of 24 stores across Ontario. As previously announced, Target plans to open 124 stores across Canada throughout 2013.
