The world's top 20 dairy players are . . . (Drum roll, please). If you thought U.S. dairy companies were in the elite five of dairy sales, you'd be wrong.
The top five based on global dairy sales only are Nestle of Switzerland, Danone of France, Lactalis of France, FrieslandCampina of the Netherlands and Fonterra of New Zealand. The top 20 in global dairy sales are coming off a tough year – although they won't find much sympathy from U.S. dairy farmers.
