Employees at a milk plant in Homewood are being laid off at the end of this month.
Illinois-based Prairie Farms announced its milk plant will close July 31. There is no word on how many workers were employed at the facility.
Public relations manager Darin Copeland said Prairie Farms will no longer operate in Alabama following the closure.
