SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Just in time for the holiday season, Creminelli Fine Meats is bringing traditional, hand-crafted artisan salami to Whole Foods locations across the country. As the first known artisan salami producer to offer many of these varieties of hand-made salamis on a national scale, Creminelli provides Americans from coast to coast with the opportunity to experience regional Italian specialty salamis, without stepping foot on an airplane.

Creminelli Fine Meats uses only the best ingredients when creating its salamis. These include all-natural pork from pigs raised on small family farms and fed 100 percent vegetarian feed free of antibiotics, hormones or other chemicals; organic spices used cautiously to complement and not overwhelm the flavorful pork; and imported gourmet ingredients ranging from truffles to wines from the highest quality Italian suppliers. Creminelli is the first to use these carefully selected ingredients to bring regional Italian specialty salamis, including the Salame al Barolo, Salame al Tartufo and, for the holidays, Salame della Musica, to customers in the U.S.

“We already sell our products on our website and to many premier retailers, and are excited to share our hand-crafted salamis with Whole Foods customers and expand our distribution to a larger audience,” said Cristiano Creminelli, owner of Creminelli Fine Meats, who started apprenticing as a young teenager in his father’s salumi business. “We know these customers appreciate high-quality, natural foods and believe they will value the authentic taste and quality of our variety of salamis.”

Creminelli’s artisan salamis can be enjoyed on their own or paired with a variety of crackers, cheeses and dried fruits, elevating the traditional appetizer platter from the standard fare to a gourmet experience.

A variety of Creminelli Fine Meats salami products are available immediately at Whole Foods locations in the prepared-foods, specialty or meat sections of the store. Many locations that carry Creminelli salamis will also carry the newest holiday flavors, Salame della Musica and Salame Americano, starting November 2010.

About Creminelli Fine Meats

Creminelli Fine Meats is a family-owned artisan salami producer based out of Salt Lake City, Utah.
The owner, Cristiano Creminelli, was born in Biella, Italy, into a family of meat artisans, or salumieri, who have produced cured meats as far back as 400 years. In 2006, Cristiano Creminelli started Creminelli Fine Meats in the United States, leaving the family’s Italian company to his brother.

Creminelli meats are handmade under the supervision of Cristiano, who insists on using choice cuts of meat from select breeds, fed with organic white grains and raised on small family farms. Organic spices are employed cautiously in the European tradition to complement and not overwhelm the flavorful, well-marbled natural pork. Products are available at many premier retailers, several Whole Foods locations around the country, and online. For a complete list of retailers, visit here.
