Mt. Vikos Manouri Cheese Recalled Due To Listeria Concerns

A type of cheese used for Greek dishes has been recalled as it was found to possibly be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Mt Vikos Inc. has voluntarily recalled all sizes and packages of Mt Vikos Manouri Sheep and Goat Milk cheese.

Mt. Vikos Manouri cheese was distributed in grocery stores and in the food service industry nationwide.

So far no illness has been reported.

Listeria can sometimes cause serious problems for children, the elderly and those with a compromised immune system. Pregnant women need to especially be careful as it can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.

Consumers who purchased any of these recalled products are asked to return them to place of purchase for a full refund. Any questions about this recall may be directed to the company at 781-834-0828 between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Eastern time.
