Taste The Finalists, Experience The Winner At March 9 'Cheese Champion'

GREEN BAY, WI – Thousands of cheeses will soon compete for the elusive U.S. Championship Cheese crown, but only one will win, and the public is invited to watch it happen. Cheese Champion, the signature event of the contest, is slated for March 9 in Green Bay at the KI Convention Center. Tickets are $25.

Attendees will taste 40 of the best cheeses in the country, mix and match their favorite beer and cheese pairings, and meet and mingle with 45 of the top cheese judges in the United States. A cash bar will be available. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the champion expected to be named at 8 p.m.

“Thousands of cheeses will be evaluated, but only one can win the top honor,” said Kirsten Henning, Events Manager for host organization Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association. “With some of the most respected and successful cheesemakers in the nation on hand to hear the big announcement, there’s no doubt attendees will feel the excitement in the room.”

A limited number of tickets to Cheese Champion may be purchased in advance online through event partner Wisconsin Cheese Originals by clicking here. Attendees will taste a wide variety of the contest’s best entries from dozens of states, along with expertly-paired craft brews. National cheese judges will interact with attendees, offering cheese cutting and tasting tips, and discussing the art of grading appearance, flavor, body, and texture of cheese.
