The new winning rose for 2010 – Easy Does It TM – represents what it really means to be an All-American Rose Selection winner and is sure to thrill gardeners nationwide. This year's 2010 winner is a true testament to the AARS selection progress, which is the most challenging horticultural testing program in the country, recognizing roses that will be easy to grow and require minimal care by today's busy homeowner.
This unique honor has not been bestowed upon just one rose in any one year since Pleasure in 1990. "Easy Does It is a great rose that is as beautiful as it is disease resistant," said AARS board president, Tom Carruth. "The goal of AARS is to identify the best new roses of the year, and this year Easy Does It stood out unsurpassed."
Easy Does It TM
Delectable colors of mango orange, peach pink and ripe apricot make up each double ruffled bloom of Easy Does It. These hues seem to bounce off the Floribunda's mirrored glossy green foliage, providing a flamboyant fruit salad for the landscape. The seemingly free-flowing swirling shades of sunset show up in fragrant large colorful clusters atop a rounded bushy plant. Not just a pretty face, Easy Does It is disease resistant, vigorous and fabulous. With a moderate fruity scent, you just can't say 'no' to this seductress of the garden. The one and the only AARS award winner granted for 2010…it's distinctively delightful.
Easy Does It was hybridized by Harkness New Roses of England and is introduced by Weeks Roses of Wasco, Calif. The Harkness rose family also bred Livin' Easy, the 1996 AARS winner.
To be chosen as an "AARS Winner," this new rose thrived during two years of comprehensive testing in 23 gardens nationwide. In fact, this rose flourished in 15 categories including the ability to resist disease, overall beauty and general ease of maintenance.
