The ‘Glazen Tulp' is a prestigious prize, awarded yearly to the most successful market introduction. From the hundreds of new cultivars and concepts which are introduced through FloraHolland on a yearly basis, the international and professional jury members chose 22 finalists, spread over 4 categories. All entries are judged on a number of criteria such as commercial attractiveness, logistics process, type of loading and shelf life. That the Bourvardia Diamond series has been selected as one of the five finalists in the cut flower category is absolutely fantastic, of course. Still… we're not quite there yet!
Thursday, December 17 is the day we will be asked to defend our nomination in front of the prominent jury members who will ultimately decide the winners. A jury mainly concerned with the commercial viability of the products selected.
Whether the Bouvardia Diamond series takes away the ultimate prize will not- unfortunately – be announced until Thursday, January 21, 2016.
