CA Grown Continues To Increase Sales For CA Grown Flowers

License agreements continue to come in to Maile at the Buy California Marketing
Agreement office by growers and retailers who are recognizing the opportunity to
sell more of their California flowers comes by way of a simple blue license
plate.

Thanks to the signatory membership status of the CCFC, growers and retailers
alike have access to this effective resource that is working to brand the
quality, variety and value of the flowers produced in California.

Like food, people also want to know where their flowers come from, explains
CCFC Executive Director/Ambassador Kasey Cronquist. The CA Grown campaign has
been a focus of this office to help growers establish their brand in the market
place like consumers recognize Idaho Potatoes, Washington Apples or Florida
Orange Juice. Its going to take time, but its clearly working.

A recent article in the LA Times highlights this buy local effort underway by
CCFC and featured four California flower growers: Rene Van Wingerden of Ocean
Breeze International, Dan Vordale of Ocean View Flowers, Joe Goldberg of Skyline
Flowers and Chad Nelson of Eufloria Flowers. The article can be found here:

The CCFC will continue to serve as the industrys brand manager with its
participation on the Buy California Marketing Agreements Board of Directors and
providing the licensing agreement free of charge to all growers in the state of
California who produce cut flowers for market.
