California Cut Flower Commission Unveils ‘GrowTube’

As announced at the Annual Business and Progress Report, CCFC will begin this
month coordinating a grassroots campaign of introducing our flower farmers to
consumers via our own YouTube channel appropriately called GrowTube. The
desire for people to know where their products are grown and by who, is no more
evident then USDAs Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food campaign. After our
recent annual meetings, CCFC staff was alerted to this USDA campaign. What about
flowers, you ask? We did too. We are working on that, but in the meantime
GrowTube is going to be a great organic opportunity for our flower growers to
share who you are, where you grow, what you grow and what makes your operation
unique.

What is GrowTube? How does it work? Check out this short video explanation:

Growers who would like to volunteer for this project are encouraged to contact
Executive Director/Ambassador Kasey Cronquist via email at kcronquist@ccfc.org.
On a first come, first served basis growers will be placed on a list and
notified on approximately which week they can expect to receive CCFCs digital
video camera. The CCFC will collect each of these weekly videos and provide them
to Collective Motion Video staff who will determine (based on quality, content,
overall appeal, etc.) which videos are selected for the nine GrowTube videos
that will be produced in 2010 based on this years budget. Growers who are not
selected by Collective Motion Video staff will be given the opportunity to be
included in the GrowTube project and have their videos edited for $200.

Growers will be required to sign a release agreement prior to their
participation in GrowTube. The compliance agreement can be found here:

Again, growers who would like to volunteer for this project are encouraged to
contact Executive Director/Ambassador Kasey Cronquist via email at kcronquist@ccfc.org.
Please include a signed copy of the GrowTube Video Release Agreement and title
