Joyce Harrington and Jane Wienke understand the artistic power of flowers.
The duo will help 50 local professional and amateur floral designers bring their
creative visions to the community Friday through Sunday at Bouquets to Art 2010:
A Celebration of Floral Artistry, to benefit the University of Arizona Museum of
Art.
The biennial event features the interpretations of 39 museum paintings and
sculptures through flowers and other natural materials.
Each arrangement is displayed alongside the painting that inspired it. Pieces
represent various periods and styles ranging from works by Old Masters in the
Gallagher and Kress galleries to more whimsical pieces displayed in the “Flights
of Fancy” exhibition on the main floor.
