The Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund (JRWSF) gives support to low-income women 35 and older to build better lives through post-secondary education. The average Jeannette Rankin scholar is a single mother with two dependent children who has an average household income of $20,000. For 2019, the foundation has provided scholarships to over 120 women across the country. The scholars demonstrate courage, determination, and persistence as they succeed in conquering poverty. The scholarships make education accessible to an often-overlooked group, giving hope to women juggling school, work, and family responsibilities. These scholars are making great changes for themselves, their families, and their communities, breaking the cycle of poverty.
