Monrovia Plants Featured In HGTV Personality Jamie Durie's New iPhone App

AZUSA, Calif. — HGTV personality and landscape designer Jamie Durie released his iPhone app, Garden Design with Jamie Durie, at the star-studded Global Green pre-Oscar party last week.

Attendees at the 9th annual event included Adrian Grenier, Sophia Bush, Dylan McDermott, Sheila E and Ed Begley Jr. The Global Green party was lush with gorgeous gardens in every corner of the event, created with Monrovia plants and designed by Jamie. For the event Jamie constructed a "water-wise" green installation that incorporated live growing chandeliers, floating floral landscapes, shaped topiaries, flowering vines dripping from the balconies and a huge floating garden suspended above the dance floor laden with flowers and foliage.

The new Garden Design with Jamie Durie app features more than 1,200 Monrovia plants, and allows both seasoned gardeners and those just starting out to create the perfect outdoor room of their own. It features design philosophy videos and a unique plant selector that allows users to type in a zip code to see the perfect plants based on geographic location. Users will see a beautiful color image along with detailed plant information and a locator for the nearest independent garden center that carries Monrovia plants.

"My objective at the pre-Oscar event was to connect Global Green's guests with beautiful green spaces and remind them of how fragile our environment is and why it is so important to get more plants into the ground. This goes hand in hand perfectly with Global Green's tremendous efforts in support of our environment of which I am a huge fan," said Jamie, of his inspiration behind the green design at the event. "It was the perfect place to launch the new app." Following the event, Jamie donated all plants to a local school, where he will design a special garden.

The Garden Design by Jamie Durie app can be purchased on iTunes.
