Orchids: This Flower’s No Diva

Orchids are quirky-looking plants with off-putting names. Phalaenopsis,
Paphiopedilum, Oncidium, Psychopsis and Cattleya are a few to mess with your
mind.

But get past those tricky names and the orchid vocabulary becomes fairly basic
as is the flowers care.

Phalaenopsis orchids are otherwise known as moth orchids. Paphs, as collectors
call them, include the popular lady slipper orchids. The variety called Oncidium
includes the fragrant chocolate and the vibrant dancing lady orchids. Psychopsis
has the butterfly orchid among its hybrid forms. And Cattleyas, a group that
draws in and keeps its fans, go by names like Splash Petal and Chocolate Drop.
