Terra Nova Nurseries Gives Sneak Peek Of New Thalictrum NIMBUS Varieties

Canby, Ore. – Terra Nova Nurseries announced today a sneak peek of two new varieties named Thalictrum NIMBUS™ ‘Pink’ and Thalictrum NIMBUS™ ‘White’. These stunning varieties are the first introductions to the new NIMBUS™ series from Terra Nova Nurseries.

The NIMBUS series offers ingenious breeding breakthroughs of color and design. The series’ varieties bloom in their first year but are much better after a winter chill. They thrive in full sun or light shade with moderate amounts of drying between waterings; contain no major problems with diseases; consist of an upright, clumper habit; and have hardiness zones of 5-9. They also do not develop powder mildew in the Pacific Northwest.

Thalictrum NIMBUS ‘Pink’ has lavender-pink flowers in massive puffs at the top of strikingly dark stems and lovely, fern-like, green leaves. With a foliage height of 28”, foliage spread of 16” and flower height of 28”, the great crown count and large inflorescences of this variety make for an ideal container plant, among other uses.

Thalictrum NIMBUS ‘White’ has white, cloud-like masses of flowers over multiple dark stems and fern-like leaves, which give rise to huge inflorescences. This unique variety transforms its fluffy, white flowers into lavender-pink seed heads to extend the showy season. It has an excellent and compact habit. Like its new counterpart variety, Thalictrum NIMBUS ‘White’ boasts a foliage height of 28”, foliage spread of 16” and flower height of 28”.

For a 4” pot, the finish time is between 6-8 weeks for these varieties.
