Agri Beef Co., From Ranch To Table

Robert Rebholtz, Jr., CEO of Agri Beef Co. in Boise, ID, admits it can be “a little bit awesome” when he ponders the growth of the company founded by his father in 1968.

“I don’t know that we ever dreamed of being 100 percent vertically integrated. Growing up on the livestock side of the business, we always prided ourselves on delivering great cattle for great eating experiences. Acquiring the Washington Beef processing plant (in 2003) gave us the platform to become vertically integrated and deliver the next step in the supply chain,” Rebholtz explains.

Agri Beef Co. has evolved into a much larger operation that employs 1000 and generated $700 million gross annual revenue in 2009. Included in the company’s unique sustainable model are a ranch in Washington State, seven feedlots (almost all in the Northwest), an animal nutritional supplement operation and several environmental divisions for the processing of waste into saleable compost and biodiesel. Agri Beef’s consumer brands include Snake River Farms, Double R Ranch and St. Helen’s beef.
