LISLE, Ill. – Eckrich, a part of the John Morrell Food Group, a division of Smithfield Foods, recently announced the winner of their Ultimate Tailgate sweepstakes that includes a chance to meet college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, participate in a VIP tailgate experience and attend the college title game in Pasadena, California. William McGrath of Charlotte, Michigan is the winner of the trip for four and will attend the Tailgate and game with his son, brother-in-law and nephew. McGrath won the promotion by entering the contest through the Eckrich Facebook page.
The sweepstakes was part of Eckrich's continued support of college football and their relationship with Herbstreit who has been an Eckrich spokesperson since 2008. Eckrich featured Herbstreit in both radio and television spots and hosted the sweepstakes on their Facebook page this college football season. Fans from all across the country responded positively to the sweepstakes and entered for a chance to win. It was McGrath, however, who was the lucky winner.
"We are really looking forward to this trip and meeting Kirk," said McGrath. "This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we are really grateful for Eckrich for this opportunity."
The McGrath family will be flown to Pasadena for three days and will meet Herbstreit just hours before he analyzes the final college football game of the 2013-14 season. The McGrath's will be a part of the thousands who will be in attendance at the game and the millions watching Herbstreit on ESPN.
"We received many entries from college football fans across the country who were excited for an opportunity to win the ultimate tailgate experience with Kirk Herbstreit from Eckrich," said Chuck Gitkin, vice president, marketing, innovation and R&D for the John Morrell Food Group. "This great response from Eckrich loyal consumers demonstrates their affinity for college football, Kirk Herbstreit, and Eckrich. We are going to welcome William and his family at the big game and ensure they have the ultimate tailgate experience."
