LYNCHBURG, Va. – What's old is new again in Lynchburg.  A meat processing plant that closed almost 10 years ago is back open, creating dozens of jobs and new opportunities for farmers in our region.

Seven Hills Food Company celebrated its grand opening Monday in the old Dinner Bell plant, near Campbell Avenue.

Owners of the company say they're opening the largest independent slaughter facility in Virginia.  It features new technology that's designed to make the meat packing process safer and more efficient.

Ryan Ford, the owner of Seven Hills, says his company will create 43 new jobs.  15 of those positions have already been filled.
