Brandon Page is banking that his goats will do more than keep his pasture trimmed — they will make him money, too.
At Page Farms in Apopka, he has 21 goats on a 6.75-acre tract that wasn't suitable for the Hamlin oranges he grows on the rest of his property. He said wants to double the herd and start selling the meat.
"Look at the demographics around the area,'' he said. "There are a lot of immigrants and goats are a large part of their diets.''
Page is part of a growing number of ranchers across Florida trying their hands at raising goats.
