You might think that after more than 30 years as a sausage-maker, and winning a bevy of awards for his meat, Dean Rindahl doesn't have anything else to learn about his craft.
You would be wrong.
Rindahl, is known as the "Sausage King" and works for Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly, which has stores in Hartland and Oconomowoc. He was recently named a "master meat crafter" by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Meat Science Extension and the state's Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection.
Rindahl was part of a 25-student graduating class, the third to complete the master meat crafter program, which is a two-year training course focused on meat science and specialty meat product manufacturing.
