Prices For Tasty Buffalo Wings Have Skyrocketed

The Buffalo wing is as good as gold for numerous bars and taverns. But the
greasy, spicy foodstuff is beginning to cost nearly that much, too.

“Chicken wings once were so cheap,” said Ken Moran, owner of Jeremiah’s Tavern
in Rochester, which has had to increase menu prices twice in the past year to
$7.95 for a one-pound order. “It was an attempt to use all the parts of the
bird. Now it’s reversed. They’ve gotten pretty crazy in terms of popularity.”

Steve DeLorme, who with his father, Skip, operated the Country Sweet Chicken &
Ribs chain in Rochester, cited the skyrocketing cost of wings as one reason for
closing two of the three locations this month.
