Appeeling Fruit sold to Michigan Farm

CENTRE TOWNSHIP, PA —  Appeeling Fruit Inc. of Centre Township has been sold.

The producer of sliced apples was sold to Peterson Farms Inc. of Shelby, Mich., for $2 million, according to Berks County records. The deal, which was settled in December, includes the business and real estate, said Appeeling Fruit founder Steve Cygan.

Cygan, who served as Appeeling Fruit’s president and CEO, said there were a number of reasons he decided to sell.
