Continental Fresh Imports Cucumbers From Honduras

Coconut Grove, FL (February 11, 2010) Continental Fresh LLC, a company specializing in imports of fresh produce from Central and South America, announces today that the company will grow its market share in offshore cucumbers from Honduras.

We have slowly been building a strong program with a reputation for quality cucumbers that matches or rivals what comes out of competing areas, said Albert Perez, Managing Member for Continental Fresh LLC. As in all of our items, our secret is our growers. Our two cucumber growers, Enrique and Javier, are mid-size but very conscientious and meticulous growers that take great pride in their work, added Perez.

Perez has had a relationship with his growers since they started to grow trial plots in the late 80s. Since then so much has evolved with regard to varieties, transportation and post harvest practices; we now can provide the East Coast with fresh, high quality product with up to four vessel arrivals per week, said Perez.

Continental began importing Honduran cucumbers in late December and will have a steady supply until mid March. Cucumbers are packed in a Continental Fresh label and all products are checked by a third party inspection service upon arrival in Pompano, FL to ensure quality.

The company just finished a new program of Peruvian sweet onions and continues to provide year-round availability of mangos and avocados. Good growers are the key. I have worked with all of our growers for over 15 years. We are looking to expand by finding new growers that want a long-term partner they can trust. Perez commented.
